A Chinese woman chugged down an entire bottle of exepensive cognac to beat airport security rules.
The woman – identified only by her surname Zhou – was told she could not take the $ 200 bottle of Remy Martin XO Excellence on board due to aviation rules.
Rather than let the booze go to waste, the woman downed the entire bottle in one go – and was then deemed too drunk to fly.
The passenger was denied entry to the plane at Beijing Capital International Airport and was given medical care.
One airport officer told the South China Morning Post: “She was so drunk…she couldn’t even stand up.
“We took her to a room in a wheelchair so she could rest.”
The woman had bought the bottle in the US and then tried to take it on board an internal flight from Beijing to Wenzhou.
But she was outraged to discover the 700ml bottle was way above the 100ml that security laws allow.
Passengers are only permitted to carry liquids under 100ml in their hand luggage on internal flights.
She began to shout and scream incoherently, before falling over and rolling around the floor before security stepped in.
The woman then slept, before being released by police to family members who came to pick her up. She thanked police for taking care of her.
