Justin Bieber reveals why he cried after VMA performance

Justin Bieber has explained why he was bawling on stage this week.

The 21-year-old hit the headlines when he started weeping at the MTV Video Music Awards Sunday night after performing his new single “What Do You Mean?”

But now the pop star has revealed his emotional moment was because he was so grateful for the support from his fans.

“It was so overwhelming,” Bieber told Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show.

“I missed some cues so I was a bit disappointed about that.

“But just the support…I didn’t expect them to support me in the way they did. Last time I was at an awards show, I was booed.”

The Canadian singer said he was desperate for fans to appreciate his new music and said he felt “judged” after being in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons following recent controversies.

“I wanted to win so badly and I wanted to do what I love, I just put everything on the line”, he added.

“What was so special about the emotional moment, it was authentic and real…I was just wanting it so bad.”

In a heartfelt interview, Bieber admitting that he was “ranting” at one point, but did reveal his new album will be released on Nov. 13.

He also hit out at “knuckleheads” who he said were partly responsible for leading him astray as he grew up in the spotlight.

During the spectacular show on Sunday night, Bieber began with a dance heavy routine of “Where Are U Now” before playing his new hit, “What Do You Mean?”

The singer then took flight suspended in the air as he floated over the crowd.
