A British actor called Ben Miller ended up getting a luxury three-day stay in a five-star hotel on the French Riviera after being mistaken for Hollywood star Ben Stiller.
The TV actor invited his friends along to stay with him when he realized he had been upgraded by mistake during the Cannes Film Festival, reports the Independent.
Miller, a comic actor who has appeared in a couple of British TV hits including a series called Death in Paradise, said the hotel was too embarrassed to move him when it realized what had happened.
Even when Stiller turned up at the hotel, Miller was able to keep his room.
The mix-up was revealed during a chat show on British TV, hosted by a comic called Alan Davies.
“He got shown into Ben Stiller’s suite which had a lavish smorgasbord of culinary delights from around the world and mountains of champagne and all that, realized the mistake and invited all his friends that were there and stayed in the suite for three days,” said Davies.
