No more complaining that your only mail is bills and Netflix. Stylish-but-busy New Yorkers are realizing subscription boxes are the easiest and coolest way to keep their lives in order and discover the hottest must-haves.

Open your door to a bit of surprise with these monthly mail-order services, which keep apartments stocked with makeup, organic household supplies, dog treats and even underwear — all wrapped up in a pretty package.

Project DIY

For: The girl who wants to make stuff — not buy stuff

The deal: The Garment District’s 70-year-old M&J Trimmings is full of ribbons and buttons of every type. But what do you do with them? The shop’s new subscription box, with instructions for fun, do-it-yourself projects, has the answer.

What’s inside: Two or three fashion-forward, of-the-moment projects a month, including instructions, materials and trim from M&J, plus a tip sheet and an inspiration sheet to customize pieces. The first box ships in September with everything you need to make a suede-fringe bag tassel.

Cost: $ 30 a month

Pique

For: Every woman in New York City (we all wear tights in the winter, right?)

The deal: Get tights from all over the world, including leggings, stay-ups and garter belts.

What’s inside: A recent box included a pair of graphic black stockings and a pair of decorative toe-stockings.

The deal: This monthly manicure box comes with three limited-edition nail wrap sets by Scratch, in collaboration with a different nail artist each month. Add nail art tools and “accents,” like gems, step-by-step instructions for achieving various looks, plus a “surprise gift.”

What’s inside: The first box ships Tuesday and features goodies picked out by L.A.-based nail artist Natalie Minerva, aka Nail Swag.

The deal: The original beauty-sample subscription service, Birchbox keeps it cheap at $ 10 for five beauty samples — and maybe a tiny tasty treat. If you love a sample, you can buy full-sized versions through its site, earning discounts for each dollar spent.

What’s inside: One box included Juicy Couture La La fragrance sample, Klorane dry shampoo, COOLA cucumber moisturizer, Whish shaving cream, and Color Club nail polish.
