And on the 1,944th day, He rested.
David Javerbaum will no longer post as God on @thetweetofgod, the often devilishly funny parody Twitter feed created to promote his book and play, “An Act of God.”
“It’s been taking up too much of my time and energy and mental agility,” the Emmy-winning “Daily Show” writer and producer told the pop culture site The Frame.
“I just have to, at a certain point, just cut the cord,” he said. And with the snip, God’s 2.29 million followers are left dangling.
Turns out when God was serious on Feb. 3 when he tweeted: “I deeply regret most of you.”
Javerbaum’s pullback means there will be no more heavenly comic observations like:
“I loved the Coldplay halftime show, except for the part with Coldplay. #SB50”
“Bruce Jenner is the first Kardashian woman I can tolerate.”
“I see you when you masturbate and you’re very good at it.”
“Rioting is not the answer, but repeatedly killing unarmed black people is reeeeeeallly not the answer.”
Now the profile at @thetweetofgod reads “Done with you. Out of here.”
But not quite: “An Act of God,” starring Sean Hayes, runs through March 13 at the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles.
